Our Mission/Philosophy

Food & Folklore’s unique model is rooted in culture,
connection and curiosity.

For most, memories of food began with home. For us home is here(America) and home is there( the foreign lands we yearn for). Our work is centered around the question “What does home taste like for you?”, where we explore travel, nostalgia, belonging, identity, the POC and immigrant experience through our services.

Our Values

We believe that food should be real.

We believe what we eat is steeped in global migration patterns, the current economic system and centuries of time honored traditions.

We believe in honoring the keepers of those traditions. Those who cultivate, harvest, churn, butcher and cook.

We believe in the interconnectedness of our food ecosystems.

We believe in centering the experience of the formerly oppressed, immigrants, chefs of color, home style restaurants and our allies and friends.

We believe that people should be compensated fairly for their time, talent, and contribution not just their training and rank in the kitchen.

We believe that food is personal and political.
